General Info

Welcome to Rock Springs Camp & Retreat Center. We hope this information will help you with your stay. If you have any questions feel free to ask our caretaker.

General information

Please understand that solely volunteers run this camp. The small fee that your group pays only helps to defer the costs of running a camp of this size. You are welcome to use mostly everything in the camp for your group. Please talk to the caretaker about any specific needs. The camp is only able to provide the basic consumable items (TP, paper towels, cleaning supplies), anything beyond these basics your group will need to supply. Some groups have left supplies behind, and you are welcome to use them. The buildings your group requested should be unlocked upon your arrival. If you find a room is locked, it is not available for use. Generally we do not give out keys to the rooms for groups unless specifically requested ($5.00 deposit per key). If you lock yourself out of your room please contact the caretaker. Your group is responsible at the end of your stay, for cleaning the areas it used. Cleaning supplies are provided throughout the camp. If you need anything, or have questions please ask the caretaker.

Please go over the information below with your group upon arrival. The group leader is responsible for making sure these items are followed. Any damage caused by your group will be charged to the group leader.

bulletPlease do not move things from room to room. Most items have been donated or purchased specifically for the room that they are in. If you require something special please talk to the caretaker.
bulletPlease try to conserve energy by turning things off when not needed (lights, AC / heat).
bulletMost items around the camp are available for you to use while visiting. Please return what you use to its proper location making sure it is clean and neatly organized when you return it. If you have questions on how to use something, please ask the caretaker.
bulletAll campfires must be inside designated campfire rings and supervised by an adult. There is one fire ring in the tent area, one fire ring in the fire circle, and one fire ring in the picnic area (see map). Feel free to use the firewood located near each fire ring, or any dead trees laying on the ground. Do not burn trash in the fire, and please be careful with all fires.
bulletIf something is broken or in need of repair please notify the caretaker. The sooner we find out about something; generally the less it costs to repair.
bulletNo alcohol or tobacco products are allowed on the premises. This is a church camp and this is strictly enforced. If you must smoke, please smoke inside your personal vehicle.
bulletPlease park your vehicles in the designated parking areas away from the buildings (see map). Vehicles need to be kept away from the buildings for fire and safety reasons.
bulletPlease drive slowly (5mph maximum) in the camp. The roads have some uneven spots, and many blind corners. Please be safe.
bulletNo pets are allowed in any of the buildings. Pets are only allowed to stay overnight in the tent area, or in a privately owned cabin. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Please pick up after your pet and dispose of waste in the dumpster. Any damage done by a pet will be charged to the group leader.
bulletThe washer and dryer in the kitchen area are for cleaning camp owned items only. Laundry facilities can be found in Reedsburg and Baraboo.

            Viking Laundromat – 1509 E. Main – Reedsburg – 524-6108

bulletAt the end of your stay, you are required to clean up your rooms and prepare them for the next guests.  A vacuum, trash bags, and cleaning supplies can be found in the closet at the end of the hallway. All trash should be brought to the dumpster.  Please checkout with the caretaker when you are ready to leave.
bulletYour group is required to clean and maintain the public areas (restrooms, hallways, dining hall, kitchen, lounge, and play areas).  The bathroom, kitchen, and dining area floors must be wet mopped at the end of your stay.  Cleaning supplies can be found near each public area. All trash should be placed into the dumpster.
bulletPlease place aluminum cans (only) in the red container next to the soda machine, located in the log building.  Money raised from recycling the aluminum goes to support the youth.
bulletThere is a phone located in the log building in the kitchen area.  This phone is set up for local calls only.  If you need to make a long distance call you will have to either use a calling card or call collect.  In case of an emergency call 911.
bulletUpon arrival, every group is required to provide the camp with a group roster listing everyone entering the camp.  The roster needs to be filled in completely, with names, addresses, and telephone numbers.  This information is filed, and would only be used for emergency purposes.
bulletBefore departing, your group is expected to clean up after themselves.  Failure to clean up after your group may result in forfeiture of security deposit and future denial of rental.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation with these items. If you have any questions please talk to the caretaker.
